Buildable Backyards is a virtual summit focused on expanding housing options and maximizing land resources with Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). Many jurisdictions are considering regulations to allow ADUs or have recently updated zoning codes. The goal of Buildable Backyards is to increase the knowledge of lenders, appraisers, and others interested in ADU development.
Nonprofit developers, affordable housing providers, and others involved with shared-equity housing models will gain insight to incorporate and advocate for accessory dwellings in their projects.
Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in seven sessions throughout the summit. These sessions will be led by speakers who are experts in the spaces of housing equity, real estate, and sustainability. Here's a sneak peek at what to expect:

Durham Community Land Trustees’ mission is to build strong communities by developing, managing, and advocating for permanently affordable housing. In 1987, DCLT was founded by a group of neighbors concerned about housing decay, rising crime rates, and absentee landlords. The organization has grown from one donated house to provide both affordable homeownership and rental units to the community.
